BUCKINGHAMSHIREThis truly unique family home in the Buckinghamshire village of Chalfont St Giles has been a real labour of love – taking over seven years to complete, due to planning issues. But the results are stunning, and meet the needs of the busy family.
The kitchen was an absolute priority – so we created a wonderful open-plan room perfect for entertaining and with a wealth of personal touches, like the hand-painted tiles and wine display cabinet. Throughout there’s a real verve and originality to the home. The neutral base colours are brought to life by an eclectic mix of jewel tones, particularly in the soft furnishings and fabrics. Flashes of emerald, amethyst, ruby, topaz and sapphire blue add contrast and personality to every room. The teenage son’s bedroom features a graffiti-inspired wall which hides the closet and ensuite bathroom. Even the family dogs are considered: there’s a bed built into the boot room storage unit.
